Privacy policy.

Last updated April 29, 2026. Effective April 17, 2026.

1. What we collect

Information you give us. Name, email, phone, and mailing address when you fill out a form on this site (volunteer, donate, contact, yard sign, email signup, event registration, endorsement). Employer and occupation when you contribute, because Minnesota campaign finance law requires it. Survey responses and feedback when you send them.

Information we collect automatically. IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the URLs that sent you here. Cookies for session management and basic analytics.

2. How we use it

  • Process donations and issue Political Contribution Refund (PCR) receipts.
  • Send campaign updates, event invitations, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities.
  • Fulfill yard sign requests.
  • Respond to questions you send us.
  • Comply with Minnesota campaign finance reporting.
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can fix what is broken.

3. Campaign finance disclosures

Minnesota law requires us to report contributor information (name, address, employer, occupation, and contribution amount) to the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board for contributions over $200 in aggregate per election cycle. That information becomes part of the public record. We are required by law to collect it, and we cannot accept contributions without it.

4. What we share

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information. Period.

A small number of third-party services help operate this campaign. Each only sees what it needs to do its job, and none are allowed to use your information for their own purposes.

  • Cloudflare. Handles DNS, SSL/TLS, and Turnstile (the form-protection challenge that filters out bots before a form submits). Cloudflare also provides basic web analytics for sites it proxies, which gives us page-view counts and country breakdowns. Cloudflare sees the IP address and request metadata of every visitor.
  • Google Workspace. Hosts our email at the skylarfynboh.com domain. Any message sent to or from a skylarfynboh.com address is processed by Google.
  • Our own infrastructure. The website itself and the campaign database run on hardware Skylar controls. No third-party "website hosting" or "data warehouse" provider sees the contents of our forms or our database.

If we ever add another service that handles your information (a donation processor, a text-message platform, anything else), we will list it here before turning it on.

Two other categories where we may disclose information:

  • Campaign finance filings. Required by Minnesota law. See section 3.
  • Legal process. If we receive a valid subpoena or court order, we will comply.

5. Email and texts

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending campaign communications within 10 business days. Transactional messages (donation receipts, event confirmations) are not affected by an unsubscribe.

We do not text supporters at this time. If that changes, this section will be updated and you will have the option to opt in or out before any text goes out.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies for two things: keeping your session alive while you fill out a form, and basic site analytics. The site analytics are run by our website platform (Odoo) on the campaign's own server, not Google or Meta or any third-party advertising network. Cloudflare also provides automatic page-view analytics for sites behind its proxy.

You can disable cookies in your browser. Some forms may not work if you do.

We do not currently honor browser "Do Not Track" signals because there is no consensus standard for how to interpret them. If a clear standard emerges, we will honor it.

7. Volunteer portal

If you sign up at volunteer.skylarfynboh.com (a separate site for active volunteers), the data you enter there stays on that system. The two sites do not share data automatically. If you want your information moved between them, ask us.

8. Data security

SSL/TLS encryption for everything in transit, terminated at Cloudflare. Limited access. Only people working on the campaign can see your information. No system on the public internet is fully secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you.

9. Data retention

Contribution records are kept for four years from the date of filing, as required by Minnesota Statutes section 10A.025, subdivision 3. Volunteer and supporter information is kept for the duration of this campaign and any future campaign Skylar runs, unless you ask for deletion.

10. Your rights

You can:

  • See the information we have about you.
  • Correct it if it is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it (subject to the legal retention rules above).
  • Unsubscribe from email at any time.

To make any of these requests, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request."

11. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at people under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in a campaign email so subscribers are not caught off guard.
